California Gangs Stockpiling "Ghost Guns"

The LA Times reports that LAPD and the ATF's L.A. Field Division have been seeing an increase in the number of so-called "ghost guns" in the possession of gang members.

The hand-assembled firearms — which are legal for people who are legally allowed to possess other firearms — are effectively untraceable, because the most crucial parts have no serial numbers.

Authorities believe that gangs have begun to build their own homemade guns with parts purchased on the Internet and shipped to California from out of state because it has become more difficult to acquire full-assembled weapons.

Bill McMullan, special agent in charge of ATF’s L.A. Field Division, told the Times, "Criminals are making their own weapons because they cannot buy them legally … or they are paying other people to make those guns for them to get around the gun laws."

Recently, police seized 45 and arrested 10 alleged gang members involved in the manufacture and sale of ghost guns to criminals.

Shame on you! You know very well that almost 100% of firearms recovered from criminals are stolen! Why would you reproduce anything printed by the LA Times?
They may as well be the PR branch for Feinstein, Pelosi and Waters.... There is zero evidence of any cooperative effort between criminals with regard to the manufacture of firearms. Ghost guns indeed. Please go back to responsible journalism for Law Enforcement. Don't be a cog in the California adgenda wheel....

I mean, The appeal of 80% receivers to the law abiding gun owner is that uncle sam doesn't know you have them, so when the guns are banned, there's no registry for anyone to look at saying you had x number of guns. The whole point of them is to help legal gun owners evade any future law passed (not saying that's a bad thing). It was only a matter of time before gangs started doing this. Lets be honest; take my gun rights away and within a week I'll have made an ar and glock out of an 80% receiver and frame.

Does it really matter what the times says or what arrests are made? kalifa's lax laws and no such thing as a bad illegal or gangbanger will allow them freedom and a chance to find another gun stolen or ghosted.
