VIDEO: Gang Member Punches Georgia K-9 With Brass Knuckles

A gang member arrested Monday punched a Sandy Springs, GA, police K-9 with a set of spiked brass knuckles, police said.

Jonathan Wimbs, 25, of Atlanta; Aron Davis, 24, of Lithonia; and a 14-year-old boy were arrested after allegedly breaking into a car outside a home in Sandy Springs, GA, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Sandy Springs police spokeswoman Sgt. Forrest Bohannon said the two adults are Rollin 60 Crips gang members. She wouldn't comment about the 14-year-old.

The suspects fled into the woods, and Officer Michael DeWald's K-9 Rock sniffed out Wimbs, who was hiding in a drainage system ditch that dropped about eight feet down, DeWald said. When Rock bit into Wimbs' left arm, Wimbs pulled a set of spiked brass knuckles and punched Rock about six times.

Though the dog let go after being punched repeatedly, Rock chased Wimbs, biting his leg to bring him down to the ground where DeWald arrested him.

Rock, a 10-year-old Belgian Malinois, had three puncture wounds above his eye and needed four stitches, DeWald said. His eye socket was swollen and Rock lost a lot of blood from his nose, but the K-9 returned to work Tuesday on limited duty, basically hanging out in the truck and resting up, DeWald said.

"I couldn't have been more proud of my dog," DeWald said. "He did exactly what he was supposed to do, as he was trained, and he didn't hesitate one second."

I hope that idiot is punished with the MAXIMUM prison sentence. The guy deserves a lot of time in a cell.

Rock did a great job. Like the old Timex watch commercial this brave canine took a licking and kept on ticking. I hope GA. has a felony law for LEO canines so this skell goes to prison. Get him a big NY sirloin as a reward.

Awesome job Rock!

So the attacker demonstrates he is armed, then uses it, and he didn't get shot twice in the chest ?? Then cuffed ?

Is there any legitimate reason for spiked brass knuckles?
They are definitely weapons of offense.
Do they have any defense application?
Surely possession of spiked brass knuckles should constitute a presumption of criminal Intent to commit serious bodily injury.
Is there any other possible reason to possess, much less carry, spiked brass knuckles.

Is there any legitimate use of, or for, spiked brass knuckles?
There seems to be no other purpose except to commit a criminal offense.
Is there any other reason to possess, much less carry, spiked brass knuckles?

Surely, carrying of spiked brass knuckles, at least in a public area, should constitute prima facie evidence of, or at least, a legal presumption of, criminal intent to commit bodily injury.

Why is it not a hate crime to assault a police officer, human or canine, with a lethal weapon?

Put the perp in a MMA cage with Rock....end of costly court proceedings.

Tom @ 4/24/2016 1:20 AM

Spiked knuckles are considered a lethal weapon. Rock is, and is working as a police officer. The felon was, obviously trying to kill / do serious bodily damage to the police's officer. It's a simple trial. And after court, let Rock "play" with the felon.. without anybody around and have some real fun before the felon has to crawl into the slam... for a long time. My dog, is both a family member and partner / friend so it's only fair. Give Rock a real stake for supper.

Where's "Percy" in this discussion? I would like his narrow-minded view like the brass knuckles were used as a means of self-defense against an unwarranted government intrusion. Maybe the goofball is thinking up a response, but has to run it by his mother first.

Percy has been blocked as he violated our comment policy.

Good for Rock! A few good steaks for him ! !

Hopefully this turd was "severely arrested."
