The Dartmouth College fraternity that inspired "Animal House" is in hot water for co-hosting a "Bloods and Crips" party with a sorority this summer.

The Alpha Delta fraternity and Delta Delta Delta sorority cohosted the July 26 party at the fraternity house, where members showed up dressed as members of the black street gangs. A student reported the party to administrators, saying it attendees used "racialized language, speech, and dress."

The fraternity issued a statement acknowledging the party and said they "failed to preemptively recognize the offensive nature of the party's theme," reports the Huffington Post.
