The Los Angeles High Intensity Drug Training Area (HIDTA) training center will offer a two-day symposium for law enforcement officers covering threats such as Mexican drug cartels, street gangs, and border security.

The two-day "Cartels, Gangs & Drugs" will run from June 26-27 at the Mountainview Community Auditorium in Rancho Cucamonga.

During the two days, 20 courses will be given by eight instructors, including Richard Valdemar, retired Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department investigator and POLICE gang expert; Zapata County (Texas) Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez; Hudspeth County (Texas) Sheriff Arvin West; and Cochise County (Ariz.) Sheriff Larry Dever.

The symposium costs $80 for attendees who pre-register by June 1 and $100 after June 1. Attendees can pre-register via the L.A. HIDTA Training Center website.
