Cop Gave NYPD Parking Placard To Heroin Dealer

May 15, 2012  |

Federal authorities have arrested a New York City police officer for helping the leader of a violent heroin trafficking crew, including providing him an NYPD parking placard.

Officer Devon Daniels worked with heroin trafficker Guy Curtis of the Pov City crew, by running license plates and accepting drug payments for Curtis, reports the New York Times.

Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration learned about Officer Daniels, after they began wiretapping Curtis's phone in April 2011.

Another bad apple tarnishes the reputation of law enforcement. Glad he got caught.

Sad that he had to get caught by the Feds. Would have been better for department morale and public image to be taken down by NYPD itself.

As a former NYPD MOS it makes me cringe whenever I read about these Officer Misconduct incidents. He is out and I'm glad but,sad that he tarnished our sheild while committing the crime!

That's just how it is. Not all are helping out heroin dealers, those might are the minority. But too many don't play by the books these days, either in their job or private life. Maybe it's the underpayment or the constant drawing of corrupt officers in TV/Cinema.

review the screening process. obama's first act as president was to issue executive order sealing his records. it's a worthy battle keeping criminals out of the nypd before they are sworn in.
