Sheriff Arpaio Says Mexican Cartel Placed $1 Million Bounty On His Head

Mericopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff Joe Arpaio is investigating a report that a Mexican drug cartel has placed a $1 million bounty on his head, he has announced.
The sheriff's spokeswoman relayed the threat, which came from the FBI, according to the Arizona Republic. As a vocal proponent of tougher enforcement of illegal immigration, Arpaio said death threats against him are not unusual. He said the more recent bounty was for $5 million.
