Chandler Officer Fatally Shot During Undercover Operation

A Chandler (Ariz.) police officer didn't survive a deadly gun fight with suspects that involved at least seven people and resulted in the wounding of two other officers in southern Phoenix, the Arizona Republic reports.

Two of the four suspects hit by officers were killed, including one while fleeing in a vehicle. Six total suspects have been detained.

The shooting occurring inside a home in a south Phoenix neighborhood known for drug-related crimes. The officers were involved in an operation that also involved SWAT officers.
