New Haven Violated Wage Law With Recruit OT Pay

The city violated a state law by paying recruits for a flat 40 hours per week regardless of how many hours they worked. The city will need to make it up with retroactive overtime pay.

Karl Lloyd began patrol duties on Monday with the Cleveland Division of Police, and he wasn't a typical rookie officer. Lloyd arrived at the department five months before his 51st birthday.

Melissa Haley, 35, and Dexter Craig, 28, were terminated for their involvement in an April training accident that led to the shooting of a recruit in the wrist, a Memphis television station is reporting.
