L.A. Reaches Tentative Contract Agreement With Police Union

After months of failed negotiations, Los Angeles city officials on Friday struck a tentative agreement with the union representing the city’s police officers, sources close to the deal said.
<p>The Spirit of Blue safety training grant was presented at the Gainesville Police Headquarters Building on February 24th. Gainesville PD Receives Safety Grant from the Spirit of Blue Foundation and Dunkin' Donuts

The Spirit of Blue Foundation announced today that it has awarded a Safety Training Grant to the Gainesville (Fla.) Police Department to obtain valuable police/youth dialogue training. The focus of this training is building understanding and cooperation between the city's minority youth and the 302 police officers who serve the Gainesville community.

High school graduates are once again welcome at the New Orleans Police Department. The Civil Service Commission voted unanimously Monday to eliminate a rule requiring most applicants to have 60 hours college credit in order to qualify for a job on the force.
