Police agencies from the Washington, D.C. metro area conducted an extensive mass-casualty incident training on Wednesday at RFK Stadium, the former home of the Washington Redskins football team, as well as two Major League Baseball (MLB) teams and one Major League Soccer team.

According to WTOP Radio, the annual emergency preparedness exercise "tests and coordinates federal and local agencies' operating procedures in the event of a disaster."

The RFK facility no longer hosts regular sporting events, but remains an ideal location for conducting training for first responders who might have to work in a similar environment in the Washington D.C. area.
