Off-Duty N.C. Officer Shot During Home Invasion
October 14, 2013
A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer was wounded when two teenagers broke in to his southwest Charlotte apartment and opened fire early Sunday, reports the Charlotte Observer.
By Sunday evening, police had arrested Kevin Watson McClary, 19, and Mauricio Gabriel Salazar-Peiti, 17, for the break in earlier in the day. Police say the two shot Officer Jon Dunham during an attempted robbery about 6 a.m. Dunham's son was also in the apartment and was not hurt.
McClary and Salazar-Peiti now face multiple charges with additional counts pending, reports the Charlotte Observer.
Dunham has been on the force since 2008. He was listed in stable condition on Monday.

Glad to hear he's gonna be ok..

Be interesting to find out the motive... did they know he was a cop and targeted him? Did they have some connection to his kid? Was it just a random choice of victim?

And I should have included, glad they caught the scum bums and that Officer Dunham should be OK

I am so glad our brother is gonna make and the goblin(s) caught!
Having said that....My wife says that I am "doing too much" when I insist on a firearm being in the general area we occupy at all times. God has blessed us with a large home and my duty/off duty pistol does us no good upstairs on my dresser. (my kids are grown and are shooters) I also have a MK 9 Pepper spray by the front and back door as well as BRIGHT tactical flashlights!
At least, in the event of a goblin descending on us, we have a fighting chance!
