Off-Duty Mass. Detective Helps Revive Overdose Victim

Barnstable Police Detective Richard Morse was waiting on a sidewalk holding a cup of coffee when a car pulled up in front of him and a woman threw open the driver's side door screaming for help.

An off-duty Cape Cod, Mass., police detective quickly performed CPR on a woman who had overdosed on heroin, which helped save her life.

Barnstable Police Detective Richard Morse was waiting on a sidewalk holding a cup of coffee when a car pulled up in front of him and a woman threw open the driver's side door screaming for help, reports The Cape Code Times.

Morse pulled out the passenger and laid her on her back. As he began performing CPR, an off-duty nurse helped the detective revive the woman.
