Mass. Trooper Under Investigation Kills Self
July 30, 2013
A Massachusetts State Police trooper took his own life Monday, a day after he was relieved of duty as part of an investigation into an on-duty action.
The 40-year-old trooper, who remains unnamed, was found at the Hilton Garden Inn in Devens with self-inflicted wounds. He had served the agency since 2005.
The state police had confiscated the trooper's service weapon and other police gear Sunday after initiating the investigation into an alleged criminal act that occurred early Sunday, reports the Taunton Daily Gazette.
