New N.C. Highway Patrol Commander Named

North Carolina Department of Public Safety Secretary Kieran Shanahan has named Lt. Col. Gary Bell as acting commander of the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Bell, who started with the agency in 1986, succeeds Col. Michael Gilchrist, who is retiring today.
