Shot Minn. Cop's Partner Resigns
January 31, 2013
|
The partner of a Cold Spring (Minn.) PD police officer who was ambushed and killed has resigned his part-time job with the department.
Officer Greg Reiter, who worked part-time for the agency, didn't give a reason for his decision. Reiter's actions during the shooting came under scrutiny following the death of Officer Thomas Decker on Nov. 29.
Following the shooting, Reiter put his cruiser in reverse and avoided the shooter and lost visual contact. He was unable to provide any details to investigators.
Authorities found the shotgun used in the shooting and a suspect who had faced questioning was found hanged, reports the Star Tribune.
