VIDEO: Md. Officers' 'Driving While Black' Spoof
Two Prince George's County (Md.) Police officers may lose their jobs for producing a video in uniform that spoofed racial profiling by police.
The officers, who have not been identified, produced a nine-minute video about "driving while black" in which they are shown in uniform pulling over a black motorist two times. An agency cruiser was used in the video.
The officers' conversation with the driver was littered with "demeaning language, racial slurs, and crude stereotypes," Chief Mark Magaw told the Washington Examiner.
The officers apparently produced the video and posted it to YouTube. The chief became aware of it after a citizen complained to the Internal Affairs unit.
The president of the county's NAACP chapter told the Washington Times the video showed insensitivity to racial profiling fears, but added that the officers shouldn't be terminated.
The officers have served with the agency for 10 and three years respectively.

I have to admit, I did not watch the video all the way through. That said, I can't say that I liked it or hated it. There is the obvious, it they did this without permission and collaboration with their department, well they were not very smart. Using department resources, time and access would be a violation in any department, I would expect. If their intent was to do a good thing, they didn't do their best work. But that is just my opinion. There is a good and valid issue to be delt with, speaking of racial profiling. But their method and creativity is not up to the best standards of messaging. Fire, disipline or promote...not my call.
Has for the broader issue of profiling...being observant, being tactical, knowing your community and its citizens, recognizing what fits and what might be suspicious is good police awareness. Profilie without prejudice, and be fair to all.
Don't hate... Just my opinion.

Really, though i do appreciate the fact that this is a spoof, i have to ask this one simple question since this is a SPOOF on racial profiling and all, if these were not two (2) black officers making this video would the local NAACP being so tollerant of the officers keeping their jobs and would some of the other posters be LMAO and calling for people to be less sensitive, or would everyone be a little more condeming. Honest answers here, why the double standard?

EXACTLY!!! Since they weren't white or hispanic the NAACP is even going to bat for these dummies. It is a double standard, and they DAMN well know it. That's b.s. !!! and it's just going to be a slap on the wrist.

The N.A.A.C.P. is a typical hypocritical liberal group. Remember when slick Willy blew his load on Monica Lewinsky's dress while in the White House? The femnazis were so willing to forgive him.
