Fourteen new recruits have joined the Savannah-Chatham Metro (Ga.) Police Department, following 19 weeks of training in the academy.
The recruits, who were sworn in July 26 at the Savannah Civic Center, included Nicholas Wissner, a former Army Ranger with five combat deployments.
"The mission is a lot different," Wissner told the Savannah Morning News. "The rules of engagement are a lot different, but overall tactically and technically they are pretty equal."
