Indianapolis Police Hiring Plan Would Maintain Current Staffing Level

A new Indianapolis police funding plan would allow the department to launch a recruit class to maintain its current staffing levels.
The funding for the class, which would be the first in two years, has gained approval from a City Council committee. The Indianapolis Metro PD could hire 20 recruits to maintain its current staffing level of 1,632 officers.
