Kansas Lawmakers Cut Funding for Class of Patrol Trainees

State lawmakers eliminated a funding proposal that would have brought in a new class of Kansas State Patrol trainees during the next fiscal year.
An allocation of $862,000 for the patrol to train 15 highway patrol troopers at the academy in Salina was eliminated during budget talks.
