Baltimore PD Launches Campaign to Hire City Residents

Baltimore's mayor and police commisioner have launched a recruiting effort called Hometown Heroes Project, that aims to recruit more city residents to the 3,000-member force.
In announcing the project, Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III said the department is seeking to fill 300 positions over the next several months. The city has committed to hiring 400 new officers, despite a $120 million budget shortfall.
