Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD Graduates Largest Recruit Class Ever

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department graduated its 159th academy cadet class on Friday, as 70 new officers received badges and took their oath of office to join the North Carolina department.
The recruits completed more than 900 hours of training over the past six months, the Charlotte Observer reports.
The new class has a range of backgrounds, including a semi-professional athlete, two retired police officers who decided to come back to duty and a married couple who used to work in government.
