New York City police have charged a man with violently robbing four elderly women in the Bronx. One of the women reportedly tried to defend herself by holding up an image of Jesus Christ.
Irvin Combassee, 38, of the Bronx was charged with assault, robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, and unlawful imprisonment.
Police say that between Dec. 8 and Dec. 10, a man approached women in a residential area of the Bronx, threatened them with a screwdriver, demanded money, or beat and kicked them.
