An alleged child molester who reportedly tried to avoid prosecution by faking his own death on a boat anchored off El Segundo in Southern California, then remained on the lam for several years, pleaded not guilty Monday to a federal charge.

An alleged child molester who reportedly tried to avoid prosecution by faking his own death on a boat anchored off El Segundo in Southern California, then remained on the lam for several years, pleaded not guilty Monday to a federal charge.

Daniel J. Farinholt, who worked as executive at an El Segundo computer company, allegedly cut himself, then dripped blood on a boat he had rented before placing a distress call and abandoning the boat.
