Peed Named Executive Director of COPS

Attorney General John Ashcroft has appointed Carl Peed to be the Executive Director of the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS).

Peed has served as the Director of Juvenile Justice for the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2000 and served as the Sheriff of Fairfax County, Va., for 10 years.

Peed has served as a consultant to the National Sheriff's Association, the American Correctional Association and the US Department of Justice.
