Georgia DOT Employee Elected President of National Investigative Association

Georgia DOT Enforcement Investigator Lieutenant Cliff Tackett was recently elected President of the National Internal Affairs Investigative Association (NIAIA) at the group's national meeting in Nashville, Tenn.

"This is the highest honor ever bestowed on me," Lt. Tackett said. "It means a lot to me because of what this organization and its members stand for -- integrity in law enforcement."

A 25-year veteran of the Georgia DOT's Enforcement Office in East Atlanta, Lt. Tackett serves as an investigator with the Internal Affairs Investigative Unit.

The NIAIA is a national organization of more than 600 state and local law enforcement member agencies, which include U.S. Marshals offices, police and sheriffs departments, as well as city and state internal affairs and investigations offices.

The association's goals include establishing standards of performance and integrity for internal affairs investigators and fostering law enforcement cooperation among internal affairs investigators throughout the U.S.
