Women's organization honors advocate
ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, Md. - Women in Federal Law Enforcement, a national non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the value of women in law enforcement, recently selected Brigadier General Francis X. Taylor as an "Outstanding Advocate for Women in Law Enforcement."
Taylor, commander of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations since July 1996, was nominated based on his continued efforts toward further recruitment, mentoring and advancement of women in the command. Currently, female agents account for almost 13 percent of the total officer, enlisted, civilian and reserve agent population, an increase of 5 percent in the last three years.
"He's going in the right direction and we certainly want to recognize leaders who are doing that because it sends a clear message," Margaret Moore, executive director of the WFLE, told Police.
