Four men were charged Sunday with allegedly trying to kill an off-duty Chicago police officer in a Southwest Side shooting that one police source said erupted when they mistook the gang-enforcement officer for a gang rival.

This gallery includes examples of tattoos worn by predominanly Hispanic gangs such as the Mexican Mafia, MS-13, and the Latin Kings.
