Help Need ideas

Hello,

I wanted to ask as i saw there is a reserve thread here, My reserve Unit needs help badly. We have lost all of our events except 2 for the whole year, Otherwise its Patrol. Nobody is reallt active anymore because of that reason they are tired of Patrol. We don't have barely any money coming in as we don't have any of our events that pay us anymore. We need some ideas can anyone help out with some ideas?? Any ideas on getting our members back active again, and ideas to try to get new events.

Thankyou

It sounds like your department is the problem. Patrol should be only one small part of what reserves get involved in. Having been a reserve, I found patrol is where the action is, and to complain that you have to do it, well quitcherbitching. As to money? What do you need money for? How large of a city or town do you work for? Either way, you should let the powers that be know how much money you save them, and taxpayers each year. Does any one track the man hours donated? If not, you should be. It also sounds like you need some new leadership blood in your organization.

If you don't have a proactive leader, than they need to go. You as reserves need to have a meeting and decide where you want to take your organization. If you need money for your organization, look at what you can do locally, like car washes, bake sales, calendars, and then if you need more money, look for local businesses to be your boosters, and try hitting up some local corporate donars as well.
