Shop with a Cop program has its benefits to businesses

What a scream... to re-cap the story in a nutshell, this 21 year old in a local town in Michigan was brilliant enough to try and cash a check at Wal-Mart while a "Shop with a Cop" event was going on. That means there were (according to the article...) 80 police officers and 40 marked police cars on Wal-Mart's property while this guy decides to try this. Needless to say he got slapped with a felony for uttering and publishing...AND he was immediately taken into custody since...well, the cops were already there!!! DUH!!!! LMAO!

RE: Shop with a Cop program has its benefits to businesses

My old department had one who could qualify as being equally stupid, if not more...

One of our local restaurants bordered the line between our city and the unincorporated area patrolled by the Sheriff's Office. This was a fairly popular location and was well "protected" on the night in question by four units from the city and five from the county, all with MARKED patrol cars parked right outside.

Mr. Genius comes in and tells the cashier he is robbing the place and demands money. All of the officers inside were quickly alerted when the cashier began laughing hysterically and suggested that he look around. It was not until this point that he realized the error of his ways and tried to flee... The restaurant quickly cleared, but he was in custody before the first meal got cold...
