flashlights...
LOL...yes, I confess too
I wanted to throw something at the bitch but my Lt was behind me. Since I'm on probation for the first year, I'll have to wait til next year to throw my flashlight (just kidding).
See ya boys...gotta get up early for the range tomorrow.

RE: Batons
Windshield much better than the rear passenger window. The vehicle ignored my direction I went to hit the driver window and the car accelerated quickly. On the down swing I was looking at an infant in a car seat! Thank God I pulled back it in time, I hit the window but not hard enough to break it. I will never forget that!

Based on what I've read, you might look into the RCB Baton. We just recently went to these from the PR24. I have abused this baton in training and am very happy with it's performance. Much better than the ASP in m opinion.

thanks....the more abuse you give it and it holds up, the more I like that idea. If I gotta swing at stupid, then I want it to hurt, and I want it to hold up. I'm on a lady cop's budget which means I only really wanna buy it once...lol.
Ya'll have been most helpful.

RE: Batons
We (CDCR) switched from the PR24 to the Monadnock Expandable Baton (22'in.). It is effective. Just recently (7/20/07) we were attacked by inmates affiliated with the Crips. During the attack an inmate had struck a Sergeant from behind causing him to loose consciousness. As I responded to assist him, the inmate continued to punch the Sgt. in his face while attempting to get control of the Sgt.'s baton. To stop the inmate's attack on the Sgt. I struck him across the back of his head (deadly force was authorized per departmental policy), which caused the inmate to cease his attack. However, I do believe if we still had the PR24 the blow to the back of the inmate’s would have possibly killed him. The Monadnock Expandable Baton worked well.

RE: Batons
I like the ASP line. . . tough durable and heavy. I haven't been able to find one yet, but they sell different end caps. The one I am looking for has a small hook on the end which will help it not fly out of your hand when you "Batter Up"!! So far I haven't had to use mine on anyone, just to clear some glass. I hear great things about the line from other officers as well.

RE: Batons
i have the Monadnock, but when i got my taser, i took it off my belt. not because i think the taser is better, but mainly cause i have a small waist and can only hold so much gear on my male frame.
