RE: Anti-Cop articles in "New Features"
How very mature of you, I write a fact based question to the editor, you respond with nothing but personal attacks. You are NOT the Editor of Police magazine. The articles that you cut and paste are NOT new features to the forum. However, you seem to believe that you ARE the editor, since you keep making new posts in the Editor's forum.
Your assertion that you are bringing in readers is inaccurate. The largest reading count on the front page of the New Features Forum (as of this posting) is 67. The largest responce count is 0. ZERO. You seem to have a very low opinion of Police, thinking that they MUST be trained by you. You, however, are not a police officer. If I'm remembering correctly, you are not even a 'little security guard wanna be', you just took some courses in college. Further, posting articles that we all have seen because, funnily enough, even LEOs and us 'wanna bes' read the newspaper, does nothing to 'train' anyone. Especially as those articles tend to be heavily biased against the officers and have, at best, only half the story.
I have been on this board since it's inception, and on the previous board for years. I have not seen any increase in the numbers of posters in the general access areas. As you are not a Police Officer, you have the same access as I do, so neither of us would know how many people post in the restricted areas.
I wasn't aware there were special ankle holsters for those of us in Security; as I recall a Police Officer asked a question several months back about ankle holsters and I was one of several who gave input based on actuall experience, not based on an article which someone else wrote. If you actually read the forum you would note that I've written a number of responces to a number of other posts, and even started a few threads of my own since that particular response. You could have slammed me for something more recent, like the two posts I made in the joke section, but instead, you decided to attack me for being a Security Officer with knowledge of ankle holsters. Interesting.
Real training comes from reading official reports on incidents, not biased news articles, or reports written by anti-Police organisations. It comes from further discussion of those incidents. It comes from listening to people who have been there, done that, and learned from experience. I highly doubt there is even one agency in this country, including Security companies, which would accept your 'cut and paste' jobs as actual inservice training. Further, I also highly doubt that you would ever be hired to actually conduct an inservice training course. Please get off your high horse. You haven't 'trained' anyone here. And you are not qualified to do so.
