Police Officers Exempt from Knife Laws?

Does anyone know of laws exempting police officers from possession of automatic knives? Federal or local? Especially here in California. I know that dealers here will sell to LEO but I would like to know what the specific exception is. I am bot able to find a specific law that allows this.

On duty, off duty, or both Tony? I think there is some statute there so I will see if I can find it for you if you have not located it already. I just saw your post.
