RE: If you had this, what would you think?

Interesting thread. I'm a little late to the party...but what the hell, I usually am.

Through the years I had a number of duty-related dreams, two of the most prominent themes being:

1) I'm on the point blank wrong end of a gun as it's being fired;

2) I'm trying to fire my own weapon, but it's got a 10,000 lb. trigger squeeze.

Just wondering if there's any other common threads you find yourself encountering in your dreams...

A common thread I've had in dreams is having a physical confrontation with a suspect, ending up shooting him, but the shots have little effect. Usually we continue a dialogue while I keep punching and alternately shooting him. Strangely enough, I never feel like I've lost control of the situation. I may not be able to put him down, but he can't ever seem to hurt me. I dunno. A psychiatrist would probably have a field day with me. <twitch><twitch>

Hell, at least it beats that dream where you're back in school but wearing no clothes....<LOL>.

Dreamer dream Dreamin'

I've had the 10,000 lb trigger pull one before...you squeeze and squeeze, and the bastard is still coming towards you getting uglier every second. And every second is usually in slow motion.

The other one I keep having is the combat one...I am in combat police gear in a combat zone under intense heavy artillery fire. Past cronies are in my dream though, but I can't remember who they are by name. They are in military BDU's. I just know that I know them. It's a weird one, and the mission is familiar but then again its not. Lots of heavy fire, and bodies being ripped open.

I am guessing that all these years of giving first aid is getting to me...lol. This one usually keeps me restless, but then I calm down after I get up, then go back to sleep.

So far I haven't jolted awake ready to fight...lol. I've done that too...(poor husband)...lol.

Ah well....comes with the territory of being in the "service" whether public, military, or medical profession.

Hey maybe I can come over to your dream and help you pull that trigger...LOL (just kidding)

The mind can come up with some weird shit.

Even worse: You're back on campus and wearing no clothes but it's a school shooting situation and you're still dealing with the 10,000 lb. pull thing.

Maybe Rachel's onto something when she sez about how weird the mind works...
