What is (or will be) the greatest threat to humanity?

1. A natural disaster (like a tsunami)

2. Random terrorism

3. The eventual depletion of natural resources like water and energy.

threat....

LOL...I will have to side with stupidity.

For the moment, I think we are going to see problems from people looking for stability in a world that is not. I keep getting a re-occuring run-in with the Sparta ideology.

For those not familiar with the history:

http://www.wsu.edu/~dee/GREECE/SPARTA.HTM

The movement is called many different things, it's the ideology that keeps re-surfacing in various places throughout the world. It coincides with terrorism, but not exactly. It's a bit difficult to explain, but I'm still in the research stage.

The greatest threat to humanity has been, and will be, deception. People are deceived that one race is superior to the other, one God or religion is superior to another, one ideology is superior to another...etc.

To combat that, one must know and understand wisdom. Those who do not are, well....

Stupid.

Wolfva is on the right track...lol.

So, for example, a group of people who have fought for a cause to the point that they have made themselves sick. They refuse to accept defeat.

What's up people...

I was looking at this conversation,

i think that deception, meaning people who think they r so great to the point they can't see what is really going on is something Ofc.RachelT means or at least something of the kind by what I can get from reading the post

people refusing to realize what they are doing is hurting humanity more than helping...kind of like this war we are fighting tryin to make the Arabic people like us who obviously has no desire to be so

I mean we know the rule that we can do what we want as long as it hurts no one because it'll come back three times, three times, three and maybe then some depending on how bad that person be

Not everyone has to be like everyone else to exist in this world or exist on a team or any organisation...but deception makes those stupid to the point that they are unwilling to change or accept something different out of belief their way is the best way and no other can compare. Which is a bunch of folly in my opinion!

We're not fighting a war to make people like us. We fought two wars, in part, to liberate Arabic people from tyrannical governments at the behest of many of the citizens who actively asked us for help. Now we're fighting to keep those countries stable long enough for their fledgling Democratic governments to become strong enough to stand alone. This has all but happened in Iraq. It HAD happened in Afghanistan, but unfortunately Pakistan allowed the Taliban to take hold in the mountains, and they've relaunched their attempt to destroy the DULY ELECTED Afghani government in an attempt to re-establish the theocracy they had implemented after destroying the previous government.

threats...

Hey Old Hag/Quassia13/Wolfva,

I would say that Quassia13 has kind of the right idea, but I can't say that I agree with the U.S. storming in all over Iraq to make everybody like us. That would make us no different than the terrorist who think blowing up anything American, British, or anything related to anything but extreme Islam theology.

Here's what I would say concerning deception making people stupid: We must take a look at history, Napolean & Hitler are good examples of what deception can do. Hilter, being the most recent example, Nazis thought that they were superior over everyone else, in particular Jewish people, through a theology concerning fascism...which led to people being wiped out through murder.

The leader was deceived, and had deceived many, that they were correct in their thinking. They were not at all correct to think that they get to chose who lives and who dies. That is the issue we have with Islamic extremism, except these people are willing to kill themselves to kill others. History is repeating itself, except along with the Jewish people,... Christians, Hindus, Buddism, and true Islam followers are all suffering.

Deception...it's a nasty thing of what it can and will do.

Ah...

I see what you mean now My Lady,

Some conversations I prefer in person because one can often be misunderstood in writing, but no matter ~ as long as we understand each other in the end, eh? ;-)
