The Breckenridge Police Department provides community based policing for a mountain resort community. The department is seeking qualified applicants who will apply their life experience and education to build and maintain strong relationships with the community. The Breckenridge Police Department practices a community policing philosophy and recruits officers who demonstrate effective communication and problem resolution skills that will complement our commitment to build and maintain strong relationships with the community.

Under general supervision, the police officer performs a variety of routine and complex public safety work in the performance and administration of police patrol, investigation, traffic regulations, citizen assistance, and related law enforcement activities.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 60 semester credits of higher education at an accredited college or university, preferred.

Experience may substitute for education where applicable.
