Springfield M1A Scout Squad .308

Does anyone have any experience with this weapon? I'm looking for a "new man" to wrap my fingers around, and meeeeeow. I like this one...but I don't know if he'll disappoint me.

Is the rifle reliable? Sights good? Anyone know? It's a little heavier than the AR-15, but that isn't the issue..

Anybody got any details on how a Surgeon Rifle XL (.338 Lupua mag) performs as compared to the M24? Better or worse in your opinion?

RE: Springfield M1A Scout Squad .308

I have had a lot of experience with the M1A, but not that version. The M1A is a civilian version of the venerable M14 military rifle, which I fell in love with back in the early 70's at Quantico. I have owned two standard version M1A's, and they were very dependable and very accurate. The match versions are even better.

The Scout Squad was a shortened and somewhat modernized version. I expect that it would be an excellent rifle with only one drawback. The M14 was heavy and the M1A's still are heavy, especially compared to the AR series of rifles. The ammo is both heavier and more expensive also. The flip side of that point is that I think the larger round is a better stopper and has better penetration.

I would not hesitate to recommend this rifle to anyone.

M1A Scout

I just recently purchased an M1A Scout Squad Mossy Oak in .308. My first M1A and all I can say is wow! Great shooter! Right on target, feels great and shoots even better. I can't say enough good things about it. Make sure if you buy the rifle new look in the box for the "coupon" from Springfield, good discounts on magazines, cleaning supplies etc for your rifle.

Just a bit large for a sidearm, but...

The PS90 works fairly well if you are up to the capacity and type Ofc.RachelT might actually like.

well peacekpr...

I might try the PS90 with a suppressor and a terrorist head to blow up, but I think I would enjoy the Springfield M1A. I carry a Sprinfield .45 for duty and love it like a man with a 8 incher and a tight bod...LOL.

I've got an M1 now...soon as I can get the money for one of these M1A's...it's mine.

I feel ike a real whore paying for these "men"...LMAO <wipe that smile off your face>. Oh well gotta have a sense of humor in this field. :-)
