It's not just bad cops or soldiers these days. Nowadays some gangs are training to military standards, even using various military booklets for 'basic training'. There has been ample evidence that gangs have even sent gang members into the military and Police academies to accrue training. Then you have gangs like the Zetias...Mexican special forces created to fight drug dealers who were bought by said dealers and now work as enforcers along the border. They've been crossing the border to conduct kidnappings and such, kidnapping one person even as far as Flagstaff, Az.

Yeah... I hear ya on this. Right now I've got the ATF, State, & local POLICE working on cleaning up my neighborhood from violent gangs. We've got "Hilltop Soldiers" in my jurisdiction here. I've seen evidence of MS-13. Since I've been here (about 2 months now) there has been 5 or so murders, a handful of robberies, and aggravated assaults.

From what I can gather, there is fighting for turf. Just friggin' beautiful (lots of sarcasm)... And forget patrol cars...LOL the police just circle the neighborhood with paddy wagons...LOL. Kinda like street cleaners...LOL.

But anyway, you're right gangs are showing up in the military, thus betraying the good soldiers or others, for information. A kind of espionage. The information is passed around, and you get the point. Next we have the ATF, DEA, and other police officers fighting military combat style.

I'm working on a research project to hopefully see if stiffer penalties would keep people out of gang activities like murder, kidnapping, and robberies.

Mexican Drug gangs are very active, here in Phoenix, Arizona. These are the same people engaged in human trafficking. Home Invasion robberies & kidnappings are very common. More than one is reported daily and the crimes are about twenty times UNDER-REPORTED! Phoenix, Arizona is the kidnap-for-ransom capital of America and is second only to Mexico City in numbers of kidnap-for-ransom incidents.

Last spring, a Mexican Home Invasion "Crew" took down a home in Phoenix, firing more than 100 shots in the home. The bad guys wore Phoenix PD SWAT-type uniforms (Phoenix PD markings), body armor, and carried rifles with optical sights. There were about 20 of these criminals involved in the single-house take-down.

In this town, the fifth largest city in America, it is good to be armed all the time and carry at least two extra magazines, as well. You just never know when opportunity will knock.

Wolfva,

I also keep my Vang Comp Systems Remington 870 (hold 8 out of 8 00 buck in middle of target at 44 yards) and my .223 patrol carbine (with EOTech & Gemtech--protects hearing) handy, too.
