Re: June 2009: Turning Cops Into Cameras
Not only am I comfortable with it, I've bought my own 'pen camera' to capture every incident as it happens. Let's face a fact here, as long as we remain professional and do things by the book, we have nothing to fear from incidents being caught on tape. Especially when we have the ENTIRE incident, not just whatever 'soundbyte' that some idjit caught on his cell phone camera which puts us in the worst light for the 6 o'clock news. I know if I had a recording device in the past it would have saved me from the 2 lawsuits I've had to defend myself against, as well as a few other facetious claims of abuse from people whom I've arrested.

Re: June 2009: Turning Cops Into Cameras
I have to agree with Wolfva here. I would be glad to wear a camera on duty because I see it as protecting me. I would have everything caught on tape, from my point of view, instead of tapes that started after the incident and catch a partial incident from some other point of view.
I know I might make a mistake and the tape might not always be a help, but I am not worried about honest mistakes. The people who are afraid fo cameras must have a reason, such as knowing they are not doing their best or are doing something wrong.
