RE: UNIVER OFFICERS SUSPENDED OVER TASER

The same people that criticize us, ridicule us..are the first ones to call 911 when they hear a scary noise at 3 a.m. coming from their backyard. They cant stand us..but of course in those situations..they want us to confront the scary noise so they do not have to.

re Tasing

Know something I'm finding interesting? In the various forums I frequent I've noticed the same dumba....errr....people who are castigating the Police for their actions are DEFENDING the 'Jena 6'. I finally got them to shut up by saying, "So it doesn't take 5 cops to subdue one guy. Wonder how many jocks does it take to subdue one guy? Apparently 6."

And if only I had some foresight I woulda patented the phrase, "Don't tase me, Bro!" I could retire next week <sigh>.

RE: UNIVER OFFICERS SUSPENDED OVER TASER

The guy that was tasered didn't care that he was tazered, he joked about it with the officers afterwards. He wasn't violent, had no weapons, he was just engaged in a heated debate. That's what students do at universities.

Its the police department that cruxified the officers. Blame yourselves.

I do agree though, that university students are taught to be brats. I wonder sometimes if the parents really realize what these students are "learning."  At Gaulledet the students demanded the resignation of Jane Fernandez by making a raucous.

The media exaggerates small incidents like this one to generate excitement for the viewers.

There are worse things happening..but the media will never report on them.

He also wasn't compliant. And he was breaking the law. He could have ended the situation simply by walking out when asked to (and if I'm remembering correctly, he was first asked to leave by venue staff, NOT police. They didn't get involved until asked by the staff). If he thought they were in the wrong, he could have lodged a formal complaint, written letters to the campus officials and newspapers, and even gotten a lawyer and sued. Instead, he decided to be disorderly and create a situation which resulted in his being arrested just so he could make a video and show the world he's a rebel bro!

Some dweeb was telling me that if the officers had known how to do their jobs they could have gained compliance simply by talking to him. <blink><blink> Just how do you deal with ignorance like that? I mean, what type of pollyanna world do these people live in anyways? 'Cause it ain't THIS world, that's for sure.

Wolva you are so right how much easier it would be if people just did what we asked every time we asked. I'm sure these same people have people in their lives who don't do what they ask when they ask. But we are different Somehow it shuld be a requirement that before you can complain ride along see it for real, let them try.
