Newest Type of ID theft is "Wireless Skimming" from rfid
I am sharing with you the newest type of ID theft, and a solution to it called the Armadillo Dollar or Armadillo Dollar Dilly card folder!
Radio-frequency tags are in almost everything, including door access cards, debit/credit cards, employee badges to businesses, MiFare passes, and the new REAL ID driver's licenses scheduled for May 2008. The data can be stolen while the cards are still in the wallet!
Hackers can create an electronic device called an RF Reader to wear invisibly in crowds, that will actually activate the RF tags in these cards, then capture and clone the information, in the form of a simple sine wave, to be used against the victim. Several episodes of CSI NY were featured with this technology and theft, although depicted a little over the top, back in October 2007. The frequencies are specific, for banking, passports, the REAL ID and MiFare, 13.56 MHZ is standard. For many door access cards, 125 Khz, 134.2 KHz and 13.56 MHz are used.
A "20/20" episode in Dec 2007 demonstrated a jewelry store heist where the weak point of security was the RF access into the building. The owner's card was duplicated while he was wearing it in public, then access was easily gained by the thieves after he'd left his business for the night.

We heard an average of two ID theft reports are collected daily in Arizona by law enforcement personnel on a standard shift. Many of those victims have no idea how their identity was stolen. RF theft could've been the culprit.
