Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Position

Hello Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone works for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement as an Immigration Enforcement Agent.  I applied a couple of months ago and took the test in March.  I passed the test was a 91.4.  I have not heard anything or received anything from them.  I heard there are currently hiring a lot of Immigration Enforcement Agents in the near future.  I'm hoping to land a position with them.  I currently live in Chicago, IL.  If anyone works for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement or has any information about the hiring process can you please share any information.  I really would appreciate it.

Thanks,

ghostdog5752

I took the test in July of 2006, past it with a 95.6 plus at the time I was already in a sworn position. However, I was told that the test was bien conducted for a "pool", They weren't actaully hiring anyone. That was a year ago. Good luck.

Thanks dodcop101. I'm also a sworn police officer. I hope I hear from them soon.

RE: Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Position

Guys, I retired in 2003 with 20 years as an Immigration Enforcement Officer. Each area has there own hiring stratigies. Last I heard, they promoted most of the officers and move them into more key positions and using security to hold down their detention facilities. You may have to look up the office of Personnal Management in your area to find out when they will be accepting officers. Now that they merged with Customs, they are still working out the kinks. Don't wait until they call, check their personnal office. Good luck
