Hello out there

Well, it seems like it has gotten very quiet in here lately. I miss being able to talk with others about police work.

So what would you all like to talk about? How can we make this a better forum? I would really like to see more participation and I am curious what we can do to get that going.

I know how you feel; since I'm not allowed in the good sections, being just a lowly rentacop and all. I miss the old board, sure the occasional troll came in but at least we had camraderie. And active forums.

Well, I was kind of hoping we could get some of the camaraderie going again here. It would help if we could get some of the older posters tot ell us why they stopped posting on the board.

I understand what you are saying about the law enforcement only sections, but you aren't really missing much. They were put in because surveys said that officers wanted somewhere to put out police intelligence type info without the public seeing it. We have not had that much since we seem to have lost a lot of posters.

I don't miss the trolls, but I do miss things like Ladyblue's recipes and some of the public asking questions about how things had been handled. The only real board feature I miss and would like to see is the ability to see the poster's profile. I like to know a little more about who I am talking with and that was useful to me. But I can live without it, as you can see.

If any of the old posters is still checking in, or if any new people are lurking, please let us know why you don't post and join in on things. I would love to see the board get more active again. I am sure the magazine staff would help if it is an issue or feature of the forums themselves we need to add or change.

If college would quit giving me 6 chapters to read every week, projects, and questions to answer...I'd might be in a little more often! (LOL). Enough 'bout my self torture...

Here's a question...how many cops out there have a real problem in their jurisdiction with copper thieves? What cha ya'll doing about it? Do they disguise them sevles as door-to-door salesmen? Is house foreclosures in your area bringing in more problems? If so, what kinds of things is your department noticing? I am curious how the current state of our economy is affecting different areas.

I think that is a great topic and deserves its own thread, so i am reporting it as a separate thread.

Don't worry Steve, I'm sure everybody is still around and you're still our hero. The reason that we can't see each other's profiles is that the editors think it would be too dangerous for us all to start contacting each other. Who knows what would happen then? Then the cops wouldn't be very cop-like anymore. But anyone can still contact me, I don't care.

What do you mean you don't miss me?

Why don't we all have a meetup, whoever is left here on this shipwreck.

Can't edit the old post...I mean, I know my enemy is The Cop, but, still, why are we just writing to each other here. I can take the abuse of a face to face.
