Taurus

I have the new Taurus PT1911 and I just love it. I went and qualified with it today so I can carry it, replacing my Glock. This is the third time I shot it, and all three times, the people with me were favorably impressed by it. The trigger and the accuracy are the two most commented on items.

The range officer today had a Kimber TLE he uses and we both fired both for comparison. The Taurus was as accurate as the Kimber and the trigger was almost as crisp. Until I mentioned it, the R.O. did not believe that the Taurus has a series 80 trigger block as he had never seen that smooth a trigger on a series 80.

RE: Taurus

I've had a PT1911 since December and can't say enough good things about it. The only problem I have with it is the finish. The bluing is coming off due to holster wear faster than I think it should. I am thinking seriously of sending it off and having it coated with either Duracoat or KT Guncote baked on teflon finish.

I've got a 24/7 Pro in .45 ACP that has become my all around favorite carry gun. I'd carry it on duty if I could. It's the same length in the slide as my Glock 23 and the same length in the frame as my Glock 22 and holds 12 rounds in the magazine with a slimmer grip size than the Glock. I put a set of Heinie Straight Eight night sights on it and carry it when I'm off duty.

I recommend both of these pistols.

I was so upset when the Taurus came out. I have a Colt Series 80($650.00) sent to Wilson Combat for Custom work Total $1400.00 Most of which is on the Taurus for list price. Why didn't they come out sooner, poor me

I have seen a lot of problems with pistols with rails. There are not a lot of holsters that will fit them. Also, not a lot of companies list all fo the various 1911 pistols.

You might try the Safariland 6280 and 6285. Their catalog does not list them as fitting the Taurus, but they do fit the Wilson 1911 with rails. It might need to be a trial and error fit procedure.

The only one I could find for mine was a Triple K with no retention other than a Chicago screw
