What ammo do you carry on duty?


I carry

Hornady 223 REM 60 GR TAP - FPD in the AR-15

Hornady 12 GA SST SHOTGUN SLUG/12 GA 00 BUCKSHOT TAP - FPD in the Mossberg 500

Hornady 40 S&W 155 GR TAP - FPD in my Glock 23 (current on duty)

Hornady 40 S&W 155 GR TAP - FPD in the Springfield XD Sub-compact 40 (offduty/backup)

I carry a GLOCK 22 on duty and a 23 off...same ammo in both:

180gr Speer Gold Dot, dept issue.

Federal Hydra Shok or Remington Golden Sabre .45 ACP, both 230 grain

Federal Hydra Shok or Speer Gold Dot .40 S&W, both 165 grain

Winchester 60 grain bonded for .223 Carbine.

Good point Parnell, and if I'm ever confronted by a badguy who asks me what my forum name on Policemag.com is, I'll be sure to tell him something else...

Hey, if you get hit with a 124gr Gold Dot, a Wincester .45, a Hornady 155gr, or any other type of bullet....you're gonna feel it. Maybe not for long, but for a few seconds anyways...
