October 2007 Interview—Joseph Wambaugh
Have you read any of Joseph Wambaugh's books? Do you think they are still relevant to contemporary police work? Did you enjoy this interview?

RE: October 2007 Interview—Joseph Wambaugh
Just got this issue today and beelined for the Wambaugh article. I've read several of his books and enjoyed them immensely. His characters are real, as opposed to the 2 dimensional facades most authors emply. You know the types of characters, where everything which happens happens only so the 'hero' can save the day. In Wambaugh's books, things happen because, well, things happen. Often things the characters have little to no control over. Now if only they'd release 'Police Story' on DVD....
I enjoyed the interview. Wonder what the odds woudl be of having him give a keynote at TREXPO-East sometime....
