June 2007 Smith & Wesson M&P Compact
What do you carry off duty? Do you like the Smith & Wesson M&P? Would you consider carrying the M&P Compact as a concealed carry weapon?

M&P Compact
I usually carry either my issue SIG 226 .40 or a SIG 228 9mm when off duty. I do like the M&P series. I might consider the Compact as a back-up gun.

Back when I was a recruit, I just about bought the Smith and Wesson M&P full-size model as my choice for a duty weapon. The only thing really stopping me was the gun shop didn't have a .45 ACP in stock. Department policy requires us to carry .45 ACP and I needed a duty gun pronto for a shoot we had coming up. I ended up with a Springfield XD and I have fallen in love with it too. When you like guns...it's hard to hate a gun except when it's a jamming POS.
Yes, I would consider buying a M&P compact to carry off duty. The article explained in great detail the different characteristics of the weapon which I found very informative. I just like the style. I also liked the grip of the full-size one I tried out last year. I would assume the compact version would fit my small hands just fine. I guess I will have to find that out for sure!!!!
