February 2008 - War Wagons
I don't get to play with armored vehicles very often. For that matter, I have not been in one since I got out of M113 APC's and the Army too many years ago. But, unfortunately, in today's society it seems like some cities need more of these type of vehicles.
So, when I read the article, I was very interested. I don't expect to ever use one, but I am interested. I am also biased against the militarization of the police, so I looked at them from a slightly different aspect than most police officers.
Having said that, I am very intrigued by the Rook. It looks like it would provide the armor protection we need, without the image problems of some of the larger vehicles. I would like to see it closer up to see if it would really work like I think it will. I am also intrigued by the TacArm Juggernaut as a breaching tool.
What I would like to have seen more information on is some of the entry vehicles that have stairs and ramps built on them. They provide some armor protection but also give easy access through second and third story entry points. This might have been outside the scope of the article, but it is something I would like to get more info on.
