Dodge Will Challenge Ford, GM With New Charger

Chrysler executives attending the NAFA fleet expo in Detroit said their new Dodge Charger will challenge new Ford and Chevrolet patrol cars when it is released in November.

Chrysler executives attending the NAFA fleet expo in Detroit said their new Dodge Charger will challenge new Ford and Chevrolet patrol cars when it is released in November, the Detroit News reports.

A prototype of the 2011-model vehicle will also be given to the Michigan State Police in the fall for testing and evaluation.

Ford is introducing a new Police Interceptor for 2012, and General Motors will introduce the Chevy Caprice for 2011.

Chrysler briefly produced a police Dodge Magnum wagon starting in 2004 with a Hemi V-8 engine. That vehicle has since been discontinued.
