Intense Manhunt Continues for Mass. Cop's Shooter

Officer Robert DeNapoli, 51, is hospitalized in good condition, and one person was taken into custody, but officials said two, possibly three, people wanted in connection with the incident remain on the run.

An intense manhunt continued Wednesday morning for the suspects who opened fire on a Woburn (Mass.) Police officer during a jewelry store heist on Tuesday.

Officer Robert DeNapoli, 51, is hospitalized in good condition, and one person was taken into custody, but officials said two, possibly three, people wanted in connection with the incident remain on the run.

The man, who was taken into custody, has a tattoo of a quote from the movie "Scarface" — "El Mundo Es Mio" — the World Is Mine. DeNapoli, a 16-year veteran, was shot multiple times outside Musto Jewelers.

After the shooting, multiple SWAT teams and more than 350 police officers responded.
