Propper International introduced the first Advanced Tactical Concealment System (A-TACS) gear in a camouflage pattern designed to provide the tactical officer or soldier with head-to-toe concealment at SHOT Show 2011.
Propper will produce the A-TACS ACU, combat shirt and boonie this year, releasing the ACU in the spring to law enforcement and the U.S. military.
The Propper A-TACS ACU is said to be sewn to military specifications and made as a poly blend with 35 percent cotton ripstop fabric.
Colors in the concealment pattern were digitally sampled from elements that occur in nature, and organic pixels replace square pixels to remove 90-degree angles and create a more fluid appearance, according to Propper.
Additionally, seven other law enforcement suppliers will produce A-TACS gear for the concealment system, which will include boots from Danner, packs and a nylon kit from Tactical Assault Gear, single- or dual-point gun slings from Blue Force Gear, and weapons and optics systems from Remington, Bushmaster, and Bushnell. Safariland has also signed on to produce a product.
The A-TACS pattern, which was first introduced at SHOT Show 2010, was developed by Digital Concealment Systems and initially licensed to EOTAC. In November, Propper announced it had entered a partnership with Digital Concealment to produce the A-TACS ACU.
